Oh, Lira, you pitiful, soggy creature. You're hard to love, but you're harder to hate~
Here we have a classic case of someone not realizing just how good she has it until she's on (or over) the precipice of throwing it all away. And let me tell you, after suffering through years and years of corporate work myself, I can promise you this much: That promotion ain't worth it! Seeing Lute stand steadfastly by Lira through thick and thin warmed my heart—and made Lira's treachery sting that much more, heheheh~
Still, ambition and deep-rooted insecurities aside, with how severely the whole situation was tearing Lira up both mentally and physically (girl, your teeth are falling out and you're urinating blood—go to a doctor!!), it really does seem like her heart never was fully into it, you know? I would've loved to see when and how Lira got talked into attempting this game-losing blunder in the first place; I can only imagine how that conversation must've played out, and how gnarly her internal turmoil must've been, heh heh heh. And for that matter, with how colorful and prolific Lira's past misdeeds evidently are, I'm sure a more detailed flashback sequence exploring some of them would've been fun, too~
But yes, nice work on this VN; I'm looking forward to what you make next!
P.S.: You've improved quite a bit since A Midnight Stroll! You should be proud, heheh~
Mall Santa CEO. What will he do?
He will sell Christmas to a Private Equity firm, get ready for Flex Chrixtmas which will be quite boring.
Wonderful, loved the writing. Both endings felt so realistic, even in contrast with one another. It was easy to feel for Lira; it was clear that, in her mind, there were no other options... I'm glad that Lute could find the will and means to help her out in both scenarios, even if the outcomes were different.
Lute is, at least in my opnion, a very forgiving person even if I also feel that Lira doesn't deserve it. Lira on the other hand is someone easily blinded by her own ambition.
Lira read to me as like, the girl who folds easily if you feed her even if she hates what she becomes. But will quickly bite when someone offers more food.
That's a great read on her. Give her what she wants and she'll help you even if she hates herself after.
Love the drama in this; the situation really gave me some knots in my stomach! Was very happy with the ending I got... <3
Excellent, that's what I wanted, knots in the stomach!
corporate misery ^_^ unhealthy marriage ^_^ thank you for your service!
Thank you for playing. There's no ground more fertile for yuti toxicity than the financial world.
